Today is our pastor's birthday and we have given him a sponge sugar free cake and sugar free cookies with a tray of veggies.  We love our pastor and his vision towards the House of Hope.  Have you called him to wish him a blessed birthday?   936-581-3643

HOUSE OF HOPE NEWS LETTER
Sept. 21, 2011

Dear Prayer Warrior and Supporters,

Another year has passed and as we look forward to a new year. I want to say "Thank You" to our prayer warriors and faithful supporters, because of your God's ministry at House of Hope continues to help women overcome additional behavior through faith based ministry.

As we reflect over the past year I cannot cover all the blessing God has brought our way, but i will try to cover what i can:

1) Room Addition-Thanks to the congregation of Calvery and Rural Shade of Cleveland who helped us with additional space and a beautiful prayer garden. We also say thank you to the donations for the building fund.

2) Our new ministry that God supplied us with is our House of Hope resale shop. Pat Swor heads up the resale shop and the girls at the House of Hope help every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This ministry gives our women to learn skills and help generate income to support God's work at the House of Hope. If you have any furniture donations, Please contact House of Hope to schdule delivery.

3) Our communtiy and surrounding churches have committed to God's work in the recovery center. Some of our churches have committed along with individuals monthly support which helps us with our budget needs. Our monthly needs are $3,400.00 per month.

4) Again Kevin Mckenzie, Josephs Restaurant have helped with our three major fund raisers by supply food. Also, we have others that volunteer and supply chips, desserts, and time.

5) New three year lease on the House.

These are just a few of the blessings we have received in the past year. In reality God blesses the ministry everyday, because of folks like you and the volunteer that God has sent our way continues to reach-out to help women overcome the additional behavior through God's word.

I would like to "Thank" Lisa Kelley for her almost 5 yrs. of faithful service to the House of Hope. God has given Lisa new challenges in her life. Sept. 17th, 2011 will be her last day at the House of Hope at our house as administrator. Lisa will be moving to Kilgore with her daughter to work at a Christian television station in sales. Also, she will be helping at Haven house ministry. Please pray for Lisa  and Brook, pray for her daughters Emily and Rachael. God's call and his purpose is the call that Lisa is following in her decision and our prayers will be with her.

The other news I share with you is that Mr. James Neely my dear friend. Brother in Christ, and faithful supporter of House of Hope and Burning Hope Baptist Church passed away on September 6th. I want you to pray for his family and friends. Mr. Neely will be missed, but i praise God that my dear friend knew Christ as his Lord and Savior.

The House of Hope has been blessed with a new house administrator. The new lady in charge is running the daily operations of House of Hope is Ms. Toni Aull. She is now working with Lisa Kelley as we transition into a new era at House of Hope. Toni will be a blessing to God's work. She has been in ministry since 1990. She has been active in prison ministry teaching at area churches, leading siminars, running half way houses, teaching computer skills and serving the Lord wherever he calls her to serve. She will be sharing her calling in our news letter which will go out monthly. She brings with her a love to help women and train them in God's word.

When God presents us with new challenges, I tell the church that "God is a God of purpose not a God of accident." When God moves we are to respond and follow him. When he leads we will find his purpose and he will bless his children when we are committed to do his will.

In closing, I appreciate your prayers and faithful support for the House of Hope. Also, remember Lisa Kelley as she begins a new adventure in ministry. I hope you wil ask your churches and civic organization if Toni Aull and the women at House of Hope can speak to them about God's work in their lives.

God Bless You,
Pastor Jim Parrish

                                                                                       SPCIAL NEEDS

A) Monthly Support Base- Send monthly support to House of Hope. It is important to build the base from our daily operation. It takes 400.00 per month to house a lady in recovery. Our insurance has increase over the past year by $100.00 per month.

B) Food Donation- Can goods and meat are needed to feed our ladies a good meal 3 times daily. this is a excellent project for area churches to help us.

C) Pat Swor can always use help at the resale shop. We are open Wed., Thur., and Fri. 10am-2pm.  Please contact Sister pat through the House of Hope.

D) Donations of Furniture and goods, clean clothing are needed at the resale shop. We are asking you to contact House of Hope when you want to donate time. The resale shop clears around $750 to $1,000.00 per month to help with cost of operating House of Hope.

E) Let us know about speaking at your area churches and civic organizations to share testimonies of our girls and meet Toni Aull over new house administrator.

F) The most important thing we can all do is to pray for God's work at House of Hope. Substance abuse is a community problem. God's people can make a difference in helping these ladies change their lives through "Faith Based Ministry" Every prayer is needed. If God leads you to support House of Hope, every dime you send is used soley by House of Hope and 100% tax deductable.

G) We need a good van. We carry the women to Houston and area doctor appointments and to Houston and special functions. The van needs to be a late model that is dependable. The vehicle that we have are costing the ministry a lot to maintain.

The list of are needs we have been prayer for over the past year. Your prayers over these needs will be important. The scripture says that God is the supplier of what we ask. I believe he will supply according to our needs and God has always been faithful to do so.
